D.L. Moody's Regret

On the evening of October 8, 1871 D.L. Moody told people, rather than inviting them to make a decision for Christ that night, to go home and reflect on the verse from Matthew 27:22; "Then what shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?" He said, that next week, he would challenge them to receive Christ. But, minutes later, before the closing song ended, the Chicago fire had begun. The hall they were renting to meet in, on Sunday nights, and their church building, down the street, were burned to the ground.  Moody never saw those people again. He regretted, the rest of his life, not asking them to decide that night to receive Christ.
