STORIES Three French StonecuttersLong ago there were three men cutting stone in a French quarry. One day, a man was walking by and admired their hard labor. He asked the first man, "What are you doing?" Without looking up he said, "Cutting stone." He simply stated the obvious. He asked the second man the same question, to which he replied, "Making 30 francs per day." His perspective was that his work was his livelihood. Finally the man asked the third man, "What are you doing?" The third man stood up proudly and exclaimed, "I'm helping to build the greatest cathedral in all of France!" This man could see the big picture and the important part he played in making vision a reality.
