STORIES Just One PossessionLong ago in the days of the Roman Empire, there lived a very wealthy senator. Unfortunately, he did not have a good relationship with his son, and they eventually parted ways.
When the senator died unexpectedly, his will was opened. It read, "Because my son does not appreciate who I am or what I've done, I leave all of my worldly possessions to my loyal slave, Marcellus. However, because I am a man of grace, I shall bequeath to my son one of my possessions, whatever he wishes to choose." "I am sorry," said the testator to the son. "You can only take one of your father's possessions. Which will it be?" The son replied, "I shall take Marcellus!" This was a smart move indeed, for by taking Marcellus, he got everything else.
