A young man who was attending a family reunion was embarrassed by his extremely red ears. Curious, everyone asked what had happened.

“I was watching a football game on television," he explained, "and my wife was ironing nearby. She left the room, leaving the iron near the telephone. The phone rang. Keeping my eyes on the television set, I grabbed the hot iron and put it to my ear.”

“So how did you burn both ears?" a friend asked.

“Well, I hadn’t anymore hung up the phone then it rang again."
