Only Angels Are Intended to Fly

Many years ago, a bishop from the East Coast visited a small midwestern religious college. He stayed at the home of the college president, who also served as professor of physics and chemistry.

After dinner, the bishop stated his view that just about everything had already been discovered and invented. The college president voiced his confidence that many new discoveries were yet to be made. In fact, he believed that within another 50 years people would be able to fly.

"Nonsense!" the bishop stated. "Only angels are intended to fly."

The bishop's name was Wright. He had two boys, Wilbur and Orville--young men that proved to have greater dreams than their father.
